On August 29, 2014 I seized the opportunity to go and experience a soccer match at a stadium. I had never watched a match anywhere else other than in the comfort of my home with parents. However this experience did not disappoint. While it was cold and the August wind was making me shiver like a leaf, there was a vibe the warmed the grandstands right up. There was the Bidvest Wits brass band who were making the crowd dance with the music that they were playing. The match was between Bidvest Wits and Moroka Swallows and was played at the Bidvest Wits Stadium. This was my view from the grand stands.
SPECTATING: I was sitting right in front of the Moroka Swallows team and they sat at the edge of their seats in anticipation of the final outcome of the game. The blistering weather did not help their anticipation. Photo: Rofhiwa Madzena
GOAL!: Bidvest Wits after they scored their second of three goals. You could just feel their happiness as sprung across the field for what seemed like an eternity before the game continued under the black sky. They won the game
JIVE: The Bidvest Wits Brass Band was keeping the the soccer fans who, like me braved the cold and came to watch the game. They played a variety of music which included old favourites and popular tunes. They played with great life and enthusiasm. Photo: Rofhiwa Madzena
FROM THE STANDS: Really excited by what I was watching I thought I snap some pictures of what I was seeing. This photo was taken in the starting minutes of the game and the view of the field was just great. I think that it is safe to assume (even with my little knowledge of soccer) the Bidvest won because they were all over the field. Photo: Rofhiwa Madzena
