RELATIONS WITH STUDENTS: The Minister of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO), Maite Nkoana-Mashabane came to Wits to give a talk about about the achievements of the ANC both locally and internationally two weeks before the national elections. She spoke about the there being a need to produce a new generation of good leaders on the platform provided by past leaders and struggle heroes including the late Chris Hani. Many questioned the motive for her lecture so close to the elections.

Unfortunately, because the minister arrived late people were unable to engage with the minister after the talk. A number of news organisations also attended to broadcast the lecture. UBUNTU Radio, DIRCO’s official radio station was also broadcasting.
